Children's Holiday Week
Each year, Country Hope puts on a week of fun
and activities for the children. Since
the inaugural holiday week held at Borambola Sport and Recreation
Camp in 2003, the camps have provided a wide range of activities for the
children from southern New South Wales
and northern Victoria who have been diagnosed with cancer or similar
illnesses, along with their carers and medical staff .
Wherever possible Country Hope also includes the
brothers and sisters of children on treatment or those who have
lost a brother or sister to cancer related illness.
Each child has a Country Hope Carer who is responsible
for the child and ensures they have a great time through the
week. All of the Carers have attended the Country Hope Carer Training
Course which is held annually, and are expected to maintain contact
with their child throughout the year and become very special friends
