Carers & Volunteers Camp Training Weekend 2017

The Country Hope Carers’ Training Weekend was held last weekend for approximately 40 carers and volunteers. The weekend provides information for new and existing carers to equip them with the necessary knowledge to care for a child during the Country Hope “Time Out for Life” holiday camp. This year the camp will be held at Borambola Sport & Recreation Centre from Sunday 24th September 2017 to Friday 29th September 2017.

A carer is an adult who has been appointed to be a friend and companion of a child who is supported by Country Hope. Country Hope supports children who have been diagnosed with cancer or other life threatening illness and their families. Therefore, a carer may be asked to look after either a diagnosed child or one of their siblings.

There are no out of pocket expenses for the carer on camp as all meals and accommodation are provided for. Country Hope is still looking for more male carers so if you are available from the 24th -29th September and want to meet new people and have a lot of fun contact Country Hope on 1800 007 880 or 6971 8955 or email us at admin@countryhope.com.au

The Carers’ Weekend was held at the Australian Airline Pilot Academy at Forest Hill and we would like to thank the AAPA for the use of their wonderful facilities.
