Albury Wodonga 4WD Club Donate $3000 to Country Hope
A huge thank you to the Albury Wodonga 4WD Club for your very generous donation and support of Country Hope. A special thank you to Jen and Marion Partl, Fiona van Zanten and the team for all your work.
Over the past few years Albury Wodonga 4wd Club have been busy selling raffle tickets for the club and then donating 25% of the proceeds to a Border region local charity. All prizes in our raffles are donated by local businesses. In 2016-17 the club selected Country Hope as our charity. At Country Hope they support country children diagnosed with cancer and other chronic life-threatening illnesses.
Over a period of 8 months club members used every opportunity to sell raffle tickets. We had stalls at markets and many tickets were sold with the assistance of local businesses. Many tickets were sold whist out on trips where we meet other 4wders. We were able to sell a good number of tickets and then donated 25% of the proceeds to Country Hope.
The Albury Wodonga 4WD Club is a family orientated club with members of all ages and is not based around any brand of vehicle. Over the past few years the club has averaged a trip every fortnight in addition to all the social functions we hold such as games nights, movie nights, new member weekends, Christmas parties, etc. All up there would be over 30 events for members to choose from each year.
The club has many children along on trips and they love the outdoors, and special things to do; such as the Children’s Christmas Party each year and when out on trips members often organize special activities just for the kids.
From afternoon drives to longer touring trips all around Australia and challenging 4wd tracks to social drives the club provides opportunities for members to take part in a wide variety of events, whatever your interest. The club is also quite community focused and assists other groups and organisations.
The Albury Wodonga 4wd Club Inc meets on the third Tuesday of every month at the AW4WDC Club House, K D. Watson Hall, Albury Showgrounds, Fallon St, North Albury, at 7.30pm. (Except January.)
