Mia's Story

Our daughter Mia was first diagnosed with Omedoblastoma brain cancer in 2019 at age of 6.

After undergoing treatment in Australia and Germany, we were overjoyed when Mia went into remission in March 2023 and was cancer-free for 12 precious months.

Sadly, in February 2024, Mia relapsed, and the tumour had to be surgically removed. Just four and a half weeks later, we were devastated to learn that the cancer had returned, this time in her spine.

Mia is now undergoing continual chemotherapy at Westmead in Sydney.  As her mum, I’ve had to give up work to be by her side through every step of this difficult journey. The emotional and financial strain during these challenging times has been overwhelming.

In 2024 we found Country Hope and it has been an incredible support for our family. Their assistance has lightened our load in ways we cannot fully express, allowing us to focus on Mia’s health and well-being.

We are so grateful for everything they have   done and continue to do for us.
